Sun 2 Sep 2018: Hosea 14 – Our Father’s Forgiveness

If you want to live well,
    make sure you understand all of this.
If you know what’s good for you,
    you’ll learn this inside and out.
God’s paths get you where you want to go.
    Right-living people walk them easily;
    wrong-living people are always tripping and stumbling.

This was the last service in our series on the poetic prophecies of Hosea.

Elisabeth led our worship and Terry our prayers.  Ernie read Hosea 14:1-9 and Roger applied it not only to Israel 10,000 years ago but also the world of 2018.

Terry also introduced us to Pastor Dr. Markus Voelker who will be taking over from him as International Director of SEAN.

Sun 26 Aug 2018: Hosea 11 – assurance of the Father’s Love

To them I was like one who lifts
    a little child to the cheek,
    and I bent down to feed them

This was the fourth in our series of services on the prophecies of Hosea from the 8th century BC.

Terry led our worship and celebrated Communion, assisted by Pancha who also led us in prayer.  Fiona read Hosea 11:1-11 and Kate explained how the passage shows the Father’s love.

Also, to much applause,  Ann and Rose reported on the success of yesterday’s fund-raising breakfast and teas, while Yvonne provided a cake for us all to celebrate Ernie and Hildegard’s 50th wedding anniversary.
