Rogation is to ask God’s blessing on the land in the late Spring at the beginning of the growing season which leads to the Harvest in early Autumn.
Instead of a morning service in Axmouth church, we had an afternoon service in the open air at Higher Bruckland Farm, close to the northern boundary of the parish.
This was followed by tea and cakes in the farmhouse.
The rain held off, the birds sang and we all felt greatly refreshed.
As we continue to explore the future of Axmouth Church, discussions are taking place with the Axe Valley Mission Community about how we and Uplyme Church might work more closely together with them.
