Axmouth Church Out and About

Not everything we do takes place in St Michael’s Church! The week Sunday 15-22 September was a case in point.

Axmouth and Uplyme take it in turns to use their church buildings for occasions where a wider need can be served. So it was that on Sunday 15th we had no morning service in Axmouth because we all went to Uplyme Church for a joint service of Healing and Wholeness.  Those who wanted healing prayer – and there were many – all reported how sensitively and privately it had been done and we thank Revd Ann Stuckey for putting it on.

On Monday 16th some of us took part in an open-air service at Forde Abbey to mark the 50th Anniversary of the RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association).

Hilary Harron conducted an informal service of blessing for the ponies, after which several went for a carriage ride and others repaired to the tea tent.

Watch a small video excerpt here.

On Sunday 22nd we were back in Axmouth for a Holy Communion Service, taken by Revd Terry Barratt.

Terry spoke on 1 Timothy 2:1-7 and you can listen here.

Two services on Sunday 25th August

We had our morning Communion and it was a pleasure to welcome back Revd Terry Barratt. He spoke on Luke 13:10-17, the healing on the Sabbath of the crippled woman.

Then in the afternoon our choir went to Forde Abbey to sing for Evensong, an annual treat for us all.  A look at the beautiful gardens and a lovely tea followed.
